Yoga Mechanics

In Align & Layer, you’ll move through a hatha yoga practice that emphasizes alignment, steady pacing, and attention to how each shape is built. You’ll have the option to incorporate props such as light hand or ankle weights, resistance straps, or blocks to explore stability, support, and strength within familiar postures.

The class is structured so that the practice can remain traditional yoga, with added elements available but not required. You decide when to layer in resistance and when to keep the practice simple and spacious, based on how you want to engage on a given day.

Virtual students are offered at-home alternatives throughout class.

Expect a grounding, thoughtful class that meets you where you are, whether you come for ease, challenge, or something in between.

PRENATAL YOGA

Mondays 9:30-10:30am & Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm


Montclair B.A.B.Y.

Prenatal yoga is a welcoming, compassionate class for women at any point in their pregnancy. No prior yoga experience is needed for this restorative, relaxing and nourishing way to reduce back ache and connect with your growing baby.

These classes will prepare you for birth in mind, body + spirit. Ease aches & pains, strengthen hips & low back, and prepare your pelvic floor for labor & recovery. Learn about birth, connect with baby, & find your confidence in community.

Wear comfortable, moveable clothes.

Tuesdays 8-9pm & Thursdays 9-10am (EST)


BIRTHLY

This 60-minute class will guide you through both breathwork and movement that will open as well as strengthen your mind, body, and heart. Not only will it help you better connect with your body and your baby, it will also provide you with the tools you need to thrive during pregnancy, labor and birth.

Yoga Mechanics

Yoga Mechanics teaches alignment yoga based on the foundations of anatomy and biomechanics. Each class is approachable and challenging all in one. We aim to educate you about your body and empower you through action. Our classes are woven with rich and contemplative content that draws you deeper into the physical practice. We hold a healthy space for you to consider your body and mind through a physical practice.

Practice through it all. The application for EACH individual WILL be different. Our staff is highly trained to facilitate movement in your body, encouraging both strength and flexibility. Health begins one movement at a time.

Whether you're feeling like a superstar or just trying to stay vertical, this workshop is a welcoming and beneficial space for all mamas!

No matter where you are in your pregnancy, taking time to move mindfully, breathe intentionally, and connect deeply is the best investment you can make in your prenatal, birthing, and postpartum wellbeing. This workshop is curated to strengthen your already incredible body (it's growing another human being after all!), offer tools for a smooth delivery, ease any feelings of stress, and provide a place for you to soften into your own beautiful intuition.

All trimesters and yoga levels of pregnant mamas welcome as well as besties, partners, and parents who you might like to share in the experience!

Recommend bringing: 1 bolster or pillow and 1 small blanket or large towel.

Private classes create ease and clarity within the yoga practice, and allows for personalized attention to ensure a truly beneficial experience.
